Entry 29: Codex Entry - Frostbacks Bound!

Image Description: A shadowed view of the Frostback Mountains with the forever-twilight gleaming in the background.

It has been an eventful half year here at Skyhold's kitchen. We've explored delicious desserts, savory and sweet baked goods, and unique main meals suitable for any occasion or company, vegan or non-vegan. Many of this year's entries have featured my own creations or my take on recipes I love. I love having the opportunity, privilege, resources, and platform to write a Dragon Age inspired vegan cooking and baking blog. And I acknowledge all of it with reverence and respect.

This cooking diary of sorts has more or less been an experiment and a challenge for myself. I have written before about my struggles for cognitive control, accountability, and even physical challenges that I worry hold me back in the moment. Yet I continue to return to this blank space made available by an online hosting titan (we can't live without you, Korth Google!).

Some of my blog entries are quite cringe worthy and others eloquently thoughtful. Make no mistake, I want to make enjoyable, thought-provoking content and delicious, unique recipes. I want to explore Thedosian cuisine and culture in this space. But first and foremost, this space is for me and my creative aspirations.

And because of that truth, I'm taking off into the mountains for a couple weeks. As stated in a recent Instagram post, I need to allow my mana to refill and reset my connection to the Fade. The mountains and forests are calling. They sing a sweet, silent song that has echoed for ages. I'm the kind of person that needs to get out there to get in touch with myself and this grand world. So I am going out to the great wilderness to hike, write, read, sleep under the stars, and hang a hammock between two strong trees.

When I return, I will dive into recipes from the World of Thedas Volume 2 cookbook. I'm excited to veganize some Fereldan favorites, like Turnip Barley Stew, and try out an Anderfels classic, Nordbotten Fruit Stew. I may make a few Instagram posts of my camp meals on the trails, but they will be infrequent. Thank you, dear reader, for being a part of this challenge and this weird fusion of fantasy video RPG inspiration and vegan food. Until later, and remember...

...Walk always in the Maker's light.
